Flex-Trax™ Safer, Quicker, Easier and Simply Better !
Early History of Flex-Trax
Tony Bright / Inventor / Founder
While at a NAPA Store, Tony saw a set if Tire Chains on Display. Having Twenty-six years of engineering experience led him to ponder the following question: Why do people buy these? They are difficult to install and they do not stay on. Once they fly off your tire they get tangled in your brake lines, causing major damage to your vehicle and likely the highway system. He found the only logical conclusion must be that people buy tire chains due to the lack of a better and safer option. With that Flex-Trax™ was conceived.
Kitchen Table Prototype
Much to the Wife’s dismay, Tony began making his first prototype on his kitchen table. He first had the steel X positive milled and shaped by his machine shop, then placed this well-defined track into liquid silicon to form the cavity to which the hot urethane rubber was then poured. After letting it set overnight to cure, he popped it out of this make-shift mold and stared in wonder. He somehow knew that this was the beginning of something BIG!
It was after dark that evening once he had the urethane rubber tracks finally secured to the wheels of his rear-wheel-drive Van. He started off down his driveway and backed around his house where there was a steep incline leading into a power line road. To his amazement the tracks were not spinning at all, as he drudged through 8”-10” of slippery slimy mud and rain soaked grass. The street tires on this van could not have even made it off the main driveway without this traction innovation, but here he was effortlessly climbing muddy trails following the power lines through the hills behind his home. This was the Eureka Moment when Tony first realized that he had created something Very Special!

Unlike Tire Chains No Damage with Flex-Trax!
We are Proud of our 15 YEARS IN BUSINESS &
Zero damage to vehicles, tires, wheels and roadways!
Note- We have not sold in Big Box Retailers, and until now we've mainly been offering Flex-Trax online and to our Niche Markets.
Necessity is the Mother of all Invention.
Mud / Snow tires are expensive, with marginal performance and used only a few months out of the year.
Snow Chains have Remained virtually the same Design for over 100 Years!
These Out-Dated Snow chains can be cumbersome to install, Damage your nice vehicle, and will rust between seasons.
So, why does anyone buy these things?
Obviously, Due to the Lack of Anything Better...
Special Blend Polymer Rubber
Special Proprietary Blend of Polymer Rubber
which we maintain as a well guarded Trade Secret.
Flex-Trax is designed with a Special Polymer Rubber which resist elongation with excellent rebound memory. Said materials are abrasion resistant, split / tear / cut resistant, cold stress cracking resistant, UV and mold resistant.* Our materials are designed to provide excellent frictional adhesion when needed, without suffering premature failure from abrasive wear.** The traction pads become softer once exposed to dry pavement use resulting in a ***smoother ride, and become harder to bite into snow and snow-packed ice once exposed to these conditions. Clients that have properly cleaned and stored our product have reported an average service life of 6-8 years. Our materials being FDA Approved for Direct Food Contact, you may even eat your lunch on them once cleaned! :-)
This Inventor asked the question, "If metal is such a good traction material for highway service, why then are tires not made of steel?" Answer- Rubber has better coefficient of friction than does steel in all situations. For this reason, Ice Skate Blades are made of Steel not rubber!
* We have hit the unit with a 20 Lb sledge hammer at -40F without even a dent.
** We have tested to over 800 miles on hot dry pavement with negligible wear.
*** We have reports that users with a hydraulic suspension do not receive a smoother ride in temps below freezing.
"Great news: the goClaws are installed and just shy of
awesome! those rubber pads have amazing "stick" on
the polished ice here in Steamboat." cheerio! -gordo
Snow Chains have Remained virtually the same Design for over 100 Years!
Chains and cables are not resilient, will not "FLEX" with the applied loads, and cannot rebound to their original shape or mounting configuration once they are exposed to the inherent characteristics and dynamic loads of a tire. Considering all the Above Facts, One could not expect rigidly affixed Steel Tire Chains / Cables to remain mounted to very resilient and dynamic tires while in motion.

Tool of the Month
"Finally got an opportunity to use our Flex Trax on a Trolley Bus - dual wheels on the rear. Started snowing halfway through a 6 hour gig. Driver stopped and put 'em on. First time using them. Driver said the (positive) difference was immediately noticeable. 6" of new snow in a few hours - didn't faze the Trolley after the Flex Trax units were installed.
No more fears with Flex Trax!
This will open up opportunities for winter use and winter revenue in the Trolley business...Well worth the money!"

Mud & Snow Tires on Demand
Snow Tires Only When You Need Them (only much better!)
Why endure the hassle and expense of swapping snow tires twice a year when you need them so rarely? Put Flex-Trax in the trunk and you can strap on the extra traction only when you really need it.
Mud Tires (Knobbies) tend to pack mud on the periphery of the tire rendering them useless for traction.
Flex-Trax "Self-Cleaning" solves for this issue as they continually throw the materials away from the surface of the tire.

Not Just for Highway Vehicles!
Snow Blowers, Plows, ATVs and Garden Tractors can all realize the Flex-Trax gripping action without damaging the Driveway Surface.
Snow Blower SnowClaws
I found that the Snow Claws were well designed and made, Installation was straight forward and with the ratchet feature and the clasp made tightening the Snow Claws very easy.
Their low profile provided great running clearance to the fenders on the garden tractor.
They provide excellent grip in the snow for snow blowing my long driveway.
I would recommend them.
Thanks again for your help,
